The last sunroom of the year for the elderly was built in Floda

The whole project started with Sunwell being in contact with Katarina Grahn who is the manager at another nursing home in Floda, Höjdenhemmet, which had its sunroom installed in early 2012. Katarina then mentioned that Sävegården was also interested in sun therapy for the elderly.

After thorough planning and several visits to the customer, Madeleine Stenqvist, the responsible manager and driving force behind the project, has finally arranged the financing. She decided on a tropical sunroom with a sandy beach.

A basement adjacent to the spa area was transformed with the help of a panoramic background image of light-reflecting fabric, bamboo, solid wood walls, pergola, whitewashed house, soft sand and fine plants into tropical paradise with sparkling sea, palm trees and sandy beach where the elderly can meet , relax, drill your feet in the sun-warmed sand. The triple solar system illuminates the entire beach area and creates a feeling of being on holiday for real.

Many residents are discovering that sunbathing not only increases the well-being of the elderly, but also creates a better environment for staff. There are also studies that show reduced sick leave among employees thanks to the health-promoting sunlight from Sunwell.
